Jodie Buckley – I joined the Mannin Art Group in 2006 and have thoroughly enjoyed the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The informative workshops are helping me develop my dormant artistic abilities, and the discipline of attending regularly has helped me enormously. The colours and forms of plants and flowers fascinate me and if I’m not growing them, I ‘m thinking of ways to immortalize them. I like to focus on the essence of the subject using a pleasing but unusual composition, based on botanical illustrative methods. For sketch work, I enjoy using a style reminiscent of C. Rennie Mackintosh, a relaxed composition which still relies on accurate drawing.
